Lisa Magnano-Craig

Lisa Magnano-Craig is an El Paso based fused glass artist with previous careers in biology and physical therapy.  She began exploring her creative side during a stay-at-home mother phase.  During this time she worked with clay and jewelry making including lapidary, silversmithing and casting, and volunteered as an instructor at the El Paso Mineral and Gem Club. However, once she discovered the luminous beauty of fused glass and the endless possibilities for creativity, it became her preferred medium.

As a fused glass artist, I am continually inspired by the unique qualities of glass, mostly its relationship with light, which gives it a unique dynamic quality.  Each work created is a combination of science, understanding glass behavior in the kiln, and artist imagination. Through my work, I aim to celebrate the luminous and ever-changing nature of glass, transforming simple sheets and other raw glass materials into something lasting, vibrant, and alive.
